Glory Of It All – A
Good morning overall but not without its hitches and frustrations. The guy leading our service has done it a couple times and is a very capable leader but wasn’t as confident with the songs as he normally is. This resulted in a couple of missed transitions and some minor hiccups as the worship team was playing but nothing that cause the whole service to derail.
Kevin, our youth ministries director, spoke on Sunday about the message of the Bible being God’s relentless pursuit of us individually and collectively. Really talking about how the meta-narrative of scripture comes down to creation -> fall -> redemption and it happens over and over and over and over and.. you get the picture ;)
Closing with the video and “Glory Of It All” was a nice touch. We brought the congregation in with the last chorus of “Glory” and they seemed to get it. Not sure it will be a congregational song for us but it worked well as a closer this week.
Next week is the real Thanksgiving and then we’re kicking off a 10-week series on discipleship – I LOVE these long series so I’m excited about that.
Do you have a question for me?
Thanks for stopping by the blog. I'm currently on sabbatical this summer - you can read more about my sabbatical here: Personal Update - What's Next
Since I'm away from the blog I've decided to close comments. I love the interaction and discussion that happens with readers and since I'm not able to do that this summer, I'll be very much looking forward to that when I return in August.
