Easter Sunday responsive reading

Easter Sunday is a great day for a responsive reading. Even if you don’t normally read extended sections of scripture as part of your worship service you could do this on Easter Sunday. One of the ways we’ve done this in the past is by taking the traditional Paschal greeting and adding some resurrection scripture to it. Great way to start Easter Sunday services together.

Leader:
Christ is risen

Congregation:
He is risen indeed!

In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3
He is risen indeed!

Jesus has come that we may have life, and have it to the fullest. John 10:10
He is risen indeed!

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17
He is risen indeed!

God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. Acts 2:24
He is risen indeed!

Christ is risen
He is risen indeed!
