5 Years

As of today it has been exactly 1,827 days since Sonya became my wife. Five years. Wow – what an amazing time it’s been. For those new to the Vacher family adventures, here’s a quick recap of the past half-decade -

November, 2002 – Engagement – not sure of the exact date. Whoops!*
May 3, 2003 – Wedding day and then honeymoon in mountains of Tennessee
March 21, 2005 – Move in to our first home
October 7, 2005 – Our daughter Avery Lyn is born
March 17, 2006 – Move in to our home in Orangeville
April 28, 2007 – Our daughter Emerson Paige is born
(early August, 2008 – Expected arrival of daughter #3)

Of course there’s much more to the story but it has definitely been a pretty amazing five years and I am so thankful that I’ve been able to spend them with Sonya. I can honestly say that I do now know anyone who could be more different than me but for some reason our relationship just works – we constantly joke that God created us so differently so that we could just help each other with the things that we each suck at.

We’ve dropped our kids off with some friends and right now we are enjoying a quick getaway on our own. I’m sure we are having a great time and enjoying each other’s company.

It is amazing how fast the past five years have gone. It has not been all sunshine and roses but it has been filled with amazing blessings, lots of joy and laughter, loads of lessons learned (hard ones and easy ones too!) and 1,827 days of great memories.

UPDATE: Thanks to an email from Sonya, here’s the correct info – “We got engaged November 8th – jerk”
