LampLust – rechargeable candles
I’ve been trying to think of some ways to use light and colour in our new space once our addition/renovation is finished. One of the things I keep going back to is candles – they add an incredible amount of atmosphere when they are used but there are lots of problems with using candles. There’s the danger of something catching on fire, the limit on where candles can be used, the mess that can sometimes happen, the cost of replacing candles, etc etc.
I came across something pretty cool today over at LampLust.com – rechargeable candles! The basic idea is that you have tea-light shaped “candles” which are rechargeable and can be used just like normal tea lights. Check out this video -
I am impressed. This (along with other electric candle ideas) could definitely be a solution for what I’m looking for!

I’ve used those before. You can’t tell the difference between those and real candles.
I looked at the link, though, and they seemed a little high. I bought some knock-off ones that work great. I can’t remember where I bought them, though . . .
Hey Chris
I’ve used them too–only battery ones (with a watch/flat battery in them too)
let me look where I got mine–I think i got 3 doz for under $40
Chris, You can pick these up at the Dollar store pretty much anywhere. You can also get them with a frosted glass holder. They look great. I use them for the green room when I do shows.
Also you can get very large eletric candles (at Winners) they look like larger piller candles (totally look wax), they are more, but you’d never know they were not real.
Jeff.
Jim sent me a link to a site where I’ve bought some candles to test out – http://www.batteryoperatedcandles.net
I’ll report back with an update!
