Wreck This Journal
My re:create friend Nathan posted about a book he bought called “Wreck This Journal” and it immediately grabbed my attention. I ordered a copy from Amazon yesterday and it arrived today. Look at how excited I am!!
Here’s the description from the publisher’s website -
For anyone who’s ever wished to, but had trouble starting, keeping, or finishing a journal or sketchbook comes Wreck This Journal, an illustrated book that features a subversive collection of prompts, asking readers to muster up their best mistake- and mess-making abilities to fill the pages of the book (and destroy them). Acclaimed illustrator Keri Smith encourages journalers to engage in “destructive” acts-poking holes through pages, adding photos and defacing them, painting with coffee, and more-in order to experience the true creative process. Readers discover a new way of art and journal making-and new ways to escape the fear of the blank page and fully engage in the creative process.
So yeah. I’m excited about this. Especially because the next month or so is going to be absolute bananas. This book will be my creative outlet and I hope will spur some new thoughts inside the ol’ noggin. I’ll keep you in the loop.
Here’s the first page I completed to give you an idea of what it’s all about.

P.S. I don’t normally link photos but if you’re up for an adventure click the picture and let’s play the game of “What was Chris figuring out on his whiteboard?“
Thanks for stopping by the blog. I'm currently on sabbatical this summer - you can read more about my sabbatical here: Personal Update - What's Next
Since I'm away from the blog I've decided to close comments. I love the interaction and discussion that happens with readers and since I'm not able to do that this summer, I'll be very much looking forward to that when I return in August.
